Trip Summary
Fourteen days moving north through three Scandinavian countries, from Stockholm's islands and spires to the deep fjord country of western Norway — with thirty-two meals, a Resident Tour Director, and every detail arranged throughout. The journey opens with an exclusive after-hours visit to the Vasa Museum in Stockholm: a 17th-century warship raised intact from the harbour bed, intact after 333 years under water, viewed in private after the public has left. Copenhagen follows, with early-morning access to Frederiksborg Palace before the day's visitors arrive, Denmark's most important royal castle, still breathtaking in the early light. Oslo gives three nights for its extraordinary maritime museums, its wide boulevards, and the particular quality of Norwegian summer light. Then the landscape takes over entirely: a traditional Smörgåsbord dinner at a family-run hotel in Balestrand, a motorised troll-car ascent to Briksdal Glacier, and a ferry along Geirangerfjord past walls of rock and cascading water that have no equivalent in Europe. Bergen's UNESCO-listed Bryggen harbour district closes the journey, one of Northern Europe's oldest port cities, and a place that earns a proper farewell dinner.

This evening, enjoy exclusive after-hours access to the Vasa Museum, where the remarkably preserved 17th-century warship Vasa stands as one of Scandinavia’s most extraordinary maritime artifacts. The day concludes with a welcome dinner at a local Stockholm restaurant.

Begin your discovery of Sweden’s capital with a guided visit to Stockholm City Hall, site of the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Explore the Council Chamber, the Gold Room adorned with millions of mosaic pieces, and the Blue Room. A panoramic drive follows, offering views across Gamla Stan, the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, Parliament, Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure. Depart Sweden for Denmark, stopping for a guided visit to Sofiero Slott before crossing the Øresund Bridge. Arrive in Copenhagen and check into Phoenix Copenhagen, set in the city’s historic Indre By district. Later, enjoy a visit to the iconic Tivoli Gardens.

Travel to North Zealand for an exclusive early-entry visit to 17th-century Frederiksborg Palace, home to the Danish Museum of National History. After lunch at a local inn, return to Copenhagen for an afternoon at leisure.

Travel by boat along the fjord before visiting the Norsk Bremuseum (Glacier Museum). Continue to Briksdal Glacier, where a motorized “troll car” ride and short hike lead to views of the glacier descending into the valley below.
