Discover picturesque Lima in this guided foodie-themed bicycle tour. Beginning in Miraflores, make your way to the sprawling Malecon, drinking in a spectacular view of Lima Bay. Your next destination invites you to taste a variety of decadent seafood at a “huarique”, a small local restaurant. Indulge in causa peruana, a quintessential Peruvian starter dish with pre-Columbian origins. The adventure continues as you pedal to another huarique to try lomo saltado, also known as stir-fried beef. Make sure there's room for dessert - choose between homemade ice cream or some “picarones”, a treat combining sweet mashed potatoes and pumpkins covered with a delicious syrup. Your gastronomic excursion concludes as you return to your cycling starting point. Please note: As this tour includes several food tastings, please consider having only a light breakfast in the morning. Kindly advise your Destination Expert of any dietary restrictions. Ceviche is prepared by marinating raw fish in lime juice.. Discover Lima by night and admire the world’s largest fountain complex on this panoramic, private guided tour of the Peruvian capital. The night starts with a trip to the impressive Magic Water Circuit, a series of 13 dancing fountains which are beautifully lit at night. A laser show, paired with traditional Peruvian music, is synchronized to the dances of the founts which take approximately 30 minutes to explore. Carrying onward, discover the historic center of Lima and find yourself marveling at centuries-old buildings as the past is brought to light, beginning with a visit to the Government Palace and City Hall in historic Plaza Mayor. Also found in the square, and completed in 1774, is the San Francisco Convent. Standing out as a prized example of Spanish Baroque architecture, it is as impressive now as it was the 18th century despite the multiple earthquakes that have shook its foundation. Finally, cap off the outing with a delicious Pisco Sour sundowner at Museo del Pisco before being returned to your hotel.
